Cahors :
A town set in a superb setting, its towers and belfries, ancient houses and bridges almost encircled by the river LOT. The famous Valentré bridge is magnificent and was built as a fort to defend the town. The local market is superb and many specialities of the region can be bought here. There are 199 chateau vineyards to visit here.

 

St Cirq-Lapopie :
The great castle in the Lot valley east of Cahors has now almost disappeared, but this stretch of the Lot river is one of the beauty spots of France, and the village is a delight.

Figeac :
This town grew around a monastery in the 9th century. The famous museum of Champollion can be found here.

Gourdon :
Gourdon is a most attractive old market town. The town descends in tiers and is rich in history. The grottes de Cougnac, the caves 3 km from Gourdon are known for their white stalagmites and wall paintings.

Gramat :
The town of Gramat is the capital of Gramat Causse. It has extraordinary landscapes and magnificent canyons break the grand horizons. This is the nearest town to camping Chateau Lacomté.

Rocamadour :
A truly breathtaking medieval Town, which is rated by the french as "le deuxième site de France". This picturesque little town, is built into a sheer rock face 150 meters high. From the ramparts of the castle there are some simply magnificent panoramic views. We highly recommend a visit here there are many places to visit including the Grotte Préhistorique des Merveilles, La Féérie autour du Rail, la Forêt des Singes, and Le Rocher des Aigles.

Lacave :
The Caves here are also well worth mentioning. You descend by train and then have a walking guided tour. What you see is spectacular, the lighting is superb the reflections in the water are beautiful.

Padirac :
This underground cave is incredible and the 700 meter boat trip on its underground river is enchanting. The waters are smooth and translucent and the lighting is superb.

St Céré :
A lovely town with the river Bave running through its streets. Again, lively Markets held twice a week.

Souillac :
Well known for its lively town, markets and the beautiful river Dordogne which peacefully meanders its ways through exquisite countryside. For canoeing this river is ideal.

Sarlat :
This beautiful unspoilt Town has magnificent buildings and incredible architecture - do not forget to look it up, its amazing.   Narrow cobbled streets guide you to the many restaurants, shops and alley ways all leading to somewhere of  interest.  On Saturdays the town comes alive and the many restaurants and cafes overflow whilst locals and visitors alike enjoy the lively street market.
