and is a 4* Camping with a Gîte, Chalets and Mobile Homes.
In 1991 we moved to the beautiful little village of Carlucet, with a dream of building and creating our own business.
At the time our children were only 9, 8 and 3 years old and we did not speak the language. We bought the Domaine known as Château de Lacomté and the outbuildings. Unfortunately there are only the remains of the original Château that exist
now.
With a lot of excitement at the beginning and a lot of heartache that followed with French Administration, making life seem almost impossible at times, through sheer determination and hard work we managed to open our site with just 12 pitches in 1993. Through the years that followed we fought and worked extremely hard to create a lovely site for people to enjoy whilst on holiday. When
we look back now, this was an incredible venture for a young family to take on in a foreign
country, where 20 years ago there were very few English people and an English speaking French person was never to be found!
How times have changed!!
We are now a small, peaceful and privately owned site situated approx 12 kms south of the Medieval
Pilgrimage City of Rocamadour, France's 2nd most visited touristic site and one of
the Grand Sites of the Midi-Pyrénées.
The nearest shopping towns are Labastide Murat 12 kms, Gourdon 18 kms and Gramat 15 kms. Cahors, the capital of the Lot
region is just a 30 minute drive away. It's famous for the magnificient 14th century
fortified bridge,
Pont Valentré, now a World Heritage Site.
From Château de Lacomté it is not possible for you to walk into a
town so transport is required. (see

Our Adult Only holiday complex offers pure peace and relaxation, whether it
be camping or in our on-site accommodation. We are nestled within the heart of the Lot's undulating countryside within beautiful natural surroundings that
induces relaxation from the moment you arrive. Enjoy life at a slower pace as stress just melts away as you relax into the freedom of
your surroundings. No Traffic Noise, No Air Pollution, No Light Pollution
and No
Overcrowding. And perhaps most importantly no Noise Pollution, enabling you to relax and de-stress
not only during low and mid season, but in
JULY and AUGUST too.
As far as we are aware, we are the first and only 4* Adult Only Site in the South West of France, offering you the wonderful opportunity
of holidaying without the normal 'Hustle & Bustle' of summer time. Just imagine relaxing around our gorgeous pool during High Season enjoying peace and
quiet. Simply a haven of charm and pure tranquillity, quietly close to nature surrounded by picturesque
landscapes.
Dordogne Valley
Château de Lacomté is in an idyllic location quietly enveloped between the calming
rivers Lot and Dordogne, a superb hiding place for you to discover the many splendours of the Lot, rich in its attractions and with breathtaking scenery. Situated south
east of the Dordogne the Lot is a region of wild and magnificent scenery uniquely carved by the passages of time.(Click on

In leafy wilderness enfolding hidden places during May, June and September Château de Lacomté is brimming with wildlife and many species of birds. Their
singing gently echoes around the grounds, which complements the dappled sunlight, blue skies and the
secrets of the Flora and Fauna. It is an area ideal
for Walkers and keen Cyclists, there are both walks and cycling routes clearly marked around us. For Photographers and Botanists
it is paradise and for Artists this area is every artist's dream. And for those
just wishing to do nothing, Château de Lacomté is heaven! Purely and simply just
'enjoy enjoying' the tranquility of our Adult Only holiday complex.

Good Food, Fine Wine and Friends. Enjoy a meal in our Restaurant, which forms part of the main building. Sample some of the Gastronomic Delights of this area in a superb convivial atmosphere. We offer an à la Carte Menu, great Wines and a well stocked Bar. |
Dine on the terrace 'Alfresco style' under beautiful romantic starlit nights and count the shooting stars! Views from the terrace over the pool and mature woodland are memorable and both the pool and terrace are lit at night. |
